Biography

Lisa Henthorne is a recognised expert and leader in desalination, water recycling and oily water treatment. She is a frequent guest speaker and lecturer throughout the world, speaking on the merits and applications of membrane technologies in seawater, brackish water, produced water, and municipal and industrial water reuse. With more than 30 years of experience, Ms. Henthorne has been delivering innovative water treatment and desalination solutions to industrial and municipal clients around the world. Beginning her career with Chevron, she has been full circle through the water industry, now primarily supporting the unique water treatment needs of the oil and gas industry.

Henthorne is considered a leader in the innovative application of membrane technologies to solve complex water resource supply challenges in industries and communities. She holds four U.S. patents, multiple foreign patents, and patents pending in water treatment technology. She served on the non-profit board of the International Desalination Association for 16 years, including as President, and presently serves on the Produced Water Society board of directors. For the past 8 years she has served on the for-profit board of directors of H2O Innovation where she presently acts as Chairman.

Previously, Henthorne held research positions at the U.S. Department of Interior, Bureau of Reclamation working in the U.S. and internationally, and was a global technology director and VP at CH2M HILL. Henthorne holds an M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines and a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Missouri State University.
